Front and center of Gen Z’s Y2K obsession is Italian brand, Diesel. With the appointment of Glenn Martens as creative director in 2020, the new visionary has revived the brand by implementing on-trend denim pieces, futuristic designs and fabric versatility.

The 1DR Xs bag from the Spring Summer 2022 collection has been making an appearance on many known figures, getting the “it-bag” title amongst fashion trendsetters. The mini design was unveiled in a psychedelic short film for the collection that was directed by artist Frank Lebon and included a soundtrack composed by British musician Leon Vynehall. The mini silver rendition of the bag features crystallization on the vintage ‘D’ front logo, a top handle as well as a detachable adjustable strap and it’s made out of 100% cow leather.

Martens told TZR “When you see the 1DR bag, you really understand Diesel – simple, sexy, confident, irreverent, easy and fun, but also sexless and versatile…and that’s not too bad, which is why I think people are obsessed with the brand again.” The bag embodies the brand’s core DNA making it appealing to any individual. Coming in many different colorways, it’s been seen on the likes of Kylie Jenner, Megan the Stallion, Julia Fox, and more.

The 1DR XS comes not only in metallic silver but in color block styles and solid colors. The bag is available for $250 USD and can be purchased on the Diesel website.
