Timex and American clothing brand, Adsum, have collaborated for the first time, focusing on the military-inspired MK1 and taking a swipe at smartwatches.

The Adsum Timex MK1 takes its 36mm form from the Mil-Spec W-46374B supplied to the US Marines in 1982.

While that watch was produced for just two months and was designed to be disposable – the caseback could not be removed to replace the battery – this contemporary version boasts a stainless steel case, mineral glass crystal, luminesce hands and 30M water resistance.

The watch is supplied with an interchangeable green slip-thru fabric strap and black slip-thru Perlon strap.

The caseback carries engraved branding for both companies, the watch’s specifications and the message “I AM PRESENT” aimed squarely at excessive notifications on smartwatches.

The Adsum x Timex MK1 is available via Timex, priced $140 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, collector auctions off 11 consecutive year Rolex Submariner Hulks.
