New Balance Goes Autumnal With Its Latest 9060 Colorway
A masterclass in muted tones.

New Balance continues its winning streak of big-hitting footwear drops with the unveiling of another 9060 colorway, this time opting for “Brown.” Following on from its official general-release colorway of “Sea Salt,” as well as a collaboration with Joe Freshgoods and a yet-to-drop pair made in association with Mowalola, the new “Brown” colorway sets the tone for yet another sneaker from New Balance that bridges the new with the old, delivering a hybrid design that doesn’t steer away from the footwear giant’s aesthetic but simultaneously modernizes it for today.
This is achieved by the 9060’s combination of references, pulling from New Balance’s iconic 990 lineage as well as running shoes like the 860. For this particular iteration, we find a combination of mesh and suede mingling across the uppers, decorating the shoe in the brand’s usual retro running display with shapes and curves cutting between the various panels.
Elsewhere, a reflective silver “N” emblem works the lateral mid-panel, while the medial sports the insignia in white barcode-esque embroidery. More “NB” branding can be found on the reflective heel tab and again on the tongue roundel, while New Balance’s logo appears once more on the rubber toe bumper and underneath on the multi-piece and futuristic sole unit.
