Stone Island Shadow Project FW22 Investigates Menswear Archetypes With Functional Materials
The range includes coats, knitwear, fleecewear, overshirts, T-shirts and more.

In its ongoing investigation of menswear’s evolution, Stone Island has returned with the latest installment of its Shadow Project, launching the first chapter of its Fall/Winter 2022 collection.
As proven by past Shadow Project offerings, the Italian label curates its explorative lineups based on inspiration from real-life scenarios and the behavioral patterns of its wearers. For Fall/Winter 2022, Stone Island seeks to celebrate truthfulness, specifically detailing a quest for uninhibited authenticity driven by a lust for the outdoors.
With that in mind, the imprint draws on a series of rough-but-comfortable materials for the first chapter of the forthcoming season. The industrial range keeps functionality in the vanguard, debuting parkas composed of glass-like, cotton poplin with corrodible dyes, Fair Isle knitwear crafted with cotton nylon chain yarn and dyed cargo pants treated with stretch nylon cotton garbardine, among several other silhouettes.
The range is grounded with natural shades, in Stone Island’s attempt to emphasize the haptics of the materials themselves. Where the first chapter hones in on green tones, spanning from bright emeralds to vivid moss, the second chapter will place priority on a red color wheel, with notes of rustic orange and warm berry.
