Jonathan Anderson‘s eponymous label, JW Anderson, isn’t afraid to push boundaries — its recent Spring/Summer 2023 show in Milan was an exercise of thinking and believing deeper, while house cues like the Penis Coin Pouch have become a signature part of the brand’s identity, and now it’s the turn of something we all know — and hate — to take the reigns: a Pigeon Clutch Bag.

Seen during the designer’s Fall/Winter 2022 runway show, the Pigeon Clutch is somewhat comically described as being served in a “Gray” colorway — no thanks to the fact this is a carbon copy of the pests of the sky. JW Anderson made the bag by using a 3D printing machine, which creates a lifesize bird with all its blush pink and blue hues on the pigeon’s neck, and even sees detail added to its little feet, beak and eyes.

The piece is meant to be held in the hand, and for when you want to use it you can simply open up the bird’s wing to access an internal cavity where all your daily essentials can be stored. Here, you’ll find a gold-toned hinge alongside a matching magnetic fastening and embossed JW Anderson branding on the underside of the wing.

JW Anderson’s kitsch Pigeon Clutch bag can be seen in the gallery above and bought in-store or online now for $890 USD.
