God of War Ragnarök will be launching this fall for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony, the title will land as the ninth installment in the God of War series.

Following 2018’s God of War, Ragnarök will serve as the end to the Norse series. The game pits players in ancient Scandinavia with protagonist Kratos and his son, Atreus. As a years-long winter draws to a close, the prophesied Ragnarök, meaning the end of days, is on the horizon. Kratos and Atreus must travel the nine realms to find a way to prevent the death of all human life.

PlayStation has shared a brief trailer offering a look at the characters of Kratos and Atreus. The video shows the father-son duo in a dark and snowy landscape, indicative of the hardships to come on their journey.

In other gaming news, Nintendo has readied a special-edition Splatoon 3 Switch OLED.
