Blizzard Will No Longer Release New Content for 'Heroes of the Storm'

But there’ll still be patches and bug fixes.

Seven years after its initial launch, Blizzard is finally winding down support for its MOBA game Heroes of the Storm. Announcing the changes over in a recent blog post, the video game developer says that while Heroes of the Storm will continue receiving patches and bug fixes, there will no longer be any new content developed for the title.

This includes heroes, maps, and skins, with the in-game store itself ceasing to offer new items, although it’ll continue to run to allow players to buy existing items. As a thank you to the players who have stuck around for seven years, Blizzard will also be gifting everyone an Epic Arcane Lizard mount, which is usually incredibly rare.

“To our Heroes community, we say, “thank you”,” the team writes. “You continue to be one of our most passionate communities, we’re grateful for your continued dedication and support, and as always, we look forward to seeing you in the Nexus.”

Elsewhere in gaming, more Skate 4 gameplay leaks have now surfaced.
