Swedish audio and tech label Transparent has opened its first physical space in Stockholm. Named the Sound Room, the space plays host to Transparent’s signature minimal speakers while also offering a space — the Circular Center — for repairs and upgrades of existing products.

The space itself reflects Transparent’s design ethos, with a focus on concrete, white walls and untreated aluminum furniture. All of this contrasts with a selection of natural elements such as a large boulder, bonsai tree and an installation of plants surrounding the speakers. The first Sound Room is an example of Transparent’s retail concept, with plans to open new locations with Circular Centers across the world in the future.

Announcing the opening of the space, Transparent’s creative director and co-founder Per Brickstad said:

“It has long been a dream to offer a physical environment where people can experience Transparent with all their senses. But mainly, the space will include what we call our first Circular Center, where we offer various circular services such as upgrades, repairs or just basic technical support,

Our mission is to create modular electronics that are forever upgradable. We believe products should get better with age and that companies are responsible for removing electronic waste from the world.”

The Stockholm Sound Room is open by appointment only. For more information, visit the Transparent web store.

In other design news, Toogood recently presented its Carhartt WIP collaboration in a new installation.
