BVLGARI Unveils the "Amerigo Vespucci" Special Edition Watch
Paying homage to the proud Italian Navy ship.
BVLGARI has presented its “Amerigo Vespucci” special edition watch, paying tribute to the namesake Italian Navy ship and its heritage.
Drawing on a color palette inspired by the revered vessel, the “Aluminum GMT” model employs a luminescent arrow-shaped hand for time-reading and two contrasting 12-hour zones in black and yellow for distinguishing between day and night. Recalling the Vespucci’s gilded black railings, the watch’s hand independently adjusts when the titanium crown is moved to its second position, while the Super-LumiNova®-coated hour-markers and white hands intend to evoke a starry night at sea.
The titanium case is engraved with the ship’s motto: “Non chi cominicia ma quel che persevere,” meaning, “Not he who begins, but who perseveres.” Meanwhile, the robust-yet-flexible rubber strap reminds wearers of BVLGARI’s signature Aluminum design codes.
Notably, the 40 mm-diameter watch is equipped with a water resistance of up to 100 metres.
