Japanese label AURALEE returned to Paris Fashion Week to unveil its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, once again showing the depth and creativity in seemingly-simple pieces. Describing its approach as “a game of gentle creativity,” the label combines different styles, materials and designs throughout the collection.

A key focus, as always, is the fabrication used. The SS23 collection mixes silk, linen and cotton with new fabrics including tropical wool, cashmere, and mohair. Additionally, AURALEE introduces new color options, contrasting a neutral color palette with hits of green, turquoise, purple and orange.

Stand-out menswear items include tailoring constructed from organic-cotton tweed, cashmere-silk knitwear and sheer mohair knitwear. Elsewhere, the collection incorporates sports-inspired nylon shorts and anoraks constructed from shirt fabric. Womenswear builds on similar themes, with transparent pieces used prominently alongside relaxed tailoring. Accessories are inspired by hiking and trekking, and include the first look at AURALEE’s seasonal New Balance collaboration.
