Following the initial announcement for the return of the Mario Strikers soccer series which was first introduced on GameCube back in 2005, Nintendo now releases a second trailer offering an overview of the new gameplay, characters, gear, and clubs. The new trailer teases in-match items, a team tackle function that propels teammates forward, unique hyper strike shots, and the signature specs of the different characters with categories that include strength, speed, shooting, passing, and technique.

The game supports up to eight players on the Joy-Cons and online competitive Strikers Clubs can enlist a total of 20 players. Club uniforms and home stadium designs can both be customized.

Nintendo describes the upcoming title below:

“Introducing Strike, a 5-on-5, soccer-like sport with no rules—do whatever it takes to win! Get gritty and try to score the most goals by tackling enemies, using items, and pulling off score-boosting special shots. Super Mario series mainstays like Peach, Toad, and Yoshi put their cleats (and stats) to the pitch and will stop at nothing to score. Customize your characters with gear that can augment their stats and appearance. Take the carnage online or pass the ball to players locally—just look out for the electric fence.”

Mario Strikers: Battle League is set to launch on June 10 and is now available for preorder on the Nintendo website for $60 USD.

Elsewhere in gaming, Razer introduces the Viper V2 Pro ultra-light gaming mouse.
