Helly Hansen’s HH-118389225 code name “ARCHIVE” returns this season to again delve into the brand’s history in the world of technical sailing apparel, but also hone in on its penchant for producing mountain-ready apparel.

First unveiled earlier this year, CAPSULE “221” (or Spring/Summer 2022) is heavily inspired by Helly Hansen’s “ÆGIR” Offshore capsule, which sits as the foundation for this collection. Modular products have been integrated and designed to be worn together in the most testing conditions on earth and delivered with a more refined visual aesthetic and color palette.

Highlights include the HH ARC 3L Modular Coat, a full-length outerwear system that can be worn in three ways thanks to interchangeable hoods, removable panels and removable gilet. Ultrasonic taped seams and reinforced webbing load eyelets feature throughout the collection, realized on a palette rarely seen from the brand before, most notably the dusty camouflage tone found on the ARC Waterproof Storm jacket, ARC vest, technical rain hats, dry bags and clip-on storage.

Windproof fabrications have also been put to the test during the SS22 design process and have been used on the HH ARC SMOCK which arrives in three colorways and comes equipped with YKK AQUAGUARD waterproof ventilation zippers.

“HH-118389225 operates outside the norm of Helly Hansen’s inline products. And we can fully explore this freedom through color, print and shape,” explains design director Dorte Vedal. “It is a place for us to explore, experiment and develop with one foot in a fashion universe and the other in the outdoors, whilst ensuring we remain true to the brand’s core principles.”

The HH-118389225 CAPSULE “221” is set to drop in the near future and will be available from both HH-118389225 and HBX webstores.

In other news, Butter Goods has tapped Peanuts for a playful Snoopy-inspired collaboration.
