Netflix on Thursday dropped off the official trailer for season two of Russian Doll, its Emmy-winning sci-fi series starring Natasha Lyonne.

Season two, which is set four years after Nadia (Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) managed to escape mortality’s time loop, promises to continue exploring “existential thematics through an often humorous and sci-fi lens,” according to the official description.

“Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations,” the synopsis reads. “At first they experience this as an ever-expanding, era-spanning, intergenerational adventure but they soon discover this extraordinary event might be more than they bargained for and, together, must search for a way out.”

Aside from Lyonne and Barnett, the cast includes Greta Lee, Annie Murphy, Sharlto Copley, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Ephraim Sykes and more. Lyonne serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, while Alex Buono, Amy Poehler (Paper Kite Productions), Leslye Headland, Lilly Burns (Jax Media), Tony Hernandez (Jax Media), Dave Becky (3 Arts), Kate Arend (Paper Kite Productions), Regina Corrado and Allison Silverman also executive produce.

Season two of Russian Doll premieres on Netflix on April 20. Watch the official trailer above.
