PYER MOSS Ventures Into Leather Goods and Women’s Footwear

PYER MOSS has unveiled its new venture into leather goods and women’s footwear. Aside from its debut haute couture collection that took place in July of 2021, Kerby Jean Raymond’s label has remained relatively silent aside from a couple of footwear drops last fall/winter and its final collection with Reebok last month. But now the silence all makes sense as the label has cooked up some new categories for its mainline collection.
PYER MOSS’ leather goods debut includes five handbags titled “network,” “build,” “embrace,” “connect” and “wave.” Crafted from Italian calfskin, the black, yellow, red, green and white bags include a geometrical build and are accented by removable straps, padded magnetic hands, gunmetal hardware and an embossed logo. A standout of the handbag offering is the “wave” handbag as the hand-shaped crossbody bag illustrates the label’s attention to expanded conceptual designs. In addition to the handbags, the leather goods offering is complete with keychains, card holders and zipped wallets with American Sign Language detailing.
The next big offering from the expansion is new mainline women’s footwear silhouettes. Fit for all styles, the luxuriously diverse offering features the “glass sandal,” “breaker sandal,” “structure boot” and “ceiling boot.” Dipped in shades of red, black and gold, the leather silhouettes are accentuated by padded detailing, abstract constructions, color blocking details, translucent heels and PYER MOSS’ signature fluted heels.
What makes the new categories stand out more is the brand’s commitment to production with Milan-based artisanal factories to produce solely what is needed for each item. In addition to the new categories, today’s release also unveils the second drop of the label’s couture capsule collection, which is outfitted with leather jackets and matching pants in black and gold colorways. PYER MOSS has also restocked certain Sculpt colorways alongside pieces from the first drop of the couture capsule collection.
