Nigel Howlett Chronicles Latest Exhibition in New Book With Avant Arte
Available in both a standard and collector’s edition.
Back in December, Nigel Howlett released a limited edition sculpture with Case Studyo that, for many of us, serves as a fitting reaction to the pandemic. Yesterday, the London-based artist worked with Avant Arte to release a sumptuous new art book chronicling his exhibition, The Face Before You Were Born, which concluded earlier this year at Ojiri Gallery.
Spanning 110 pages of luxury paper stocks by London’s Generation Press, the book takes its title from the Ojiri show and comes in both a standard edition ($96 USD) and a signed collectors edition ($283 USD). The book contains a foreword and essays by Millie Walton, along with an extensive archive of art and sketches detailing Howlett’s faceless figures.
The Face Before You Were Born (Collectors) is an edition of 125 and is signed and numbered by the artist. The publication coincided with an accompanying print, Submission, that has since sold out. However, both sets of books are still available to purchase at Avant Arte.
Elsewhere in art, Elmgreen & Dragset unveiled a massive new exhibition at Fondazione Prada.
