Bored Ape Yacht Club to Cover a Limited Run of Monkey Shoulder Whisky
Entering the luxury drinks space for the first time.
NFT marketplace for luxury liquor, BlockBar, is partnering with whisky distiller Monkey Shoulder for a unique opportunity for the Bored Ape Yacht Club community. The upcoming activation will happen in two stages. On April 25, BAYC holders will be invited to enter a ballot that offers a custom run of 100 Monkey Shoulder bottles featuring their NFT as the cover. Later on May 5, BlockBar’s own Bored Ape will cover the NFT release of 1,500 Monkey Shoulder May Scotch Whisky bottles.
Bored Ape Yacht Club members can secure the releases free of charge, and BlockBar NFT holders will receive 50% off all purchases on a first-come, first-serve basis. Future perks have been promised for the new NFT holders such as access to an event this Summer in Miami.
The move by Monkey Shoulder and Blockbar follows a similar move by tequila label Siempre Spirits earlier this month which appointed Bored Ape #5132 “Chido” as its global ambassador. The collaborations, which are separate from Yuga Labs, continue to show the utility and independent nature of ownership of BAYC and NFTs as a whole.
