Before Kanye West and adidas took over and reinvented the sneaker market as we know it today, Ye was partnered up with Nike, producing iconic pairs such as the Air Yeezy 1. Now, thanks to size?’s new re-size? the initiative, you have a chance to get your hands on a pair of the Air Yeezy 1 in the sought-after “Zen Grey” colorway.

First released in 2009, the “Zen Grey” colorway stands alongside “Blink” and “Net Tan” iterations that fetch thousands on the resale market today. This three-piece drop marked the beginning of Ye’s relationship with Nike — which lasted until 2013 — and the release went on to shape the following Air Yeezy collaborations.

The pair is quintessentially basketball in its origins, but thanks to Kanye, the Air Yeezy 1 grew into something futuristic at the time, and unlike anything seen before. A strap runs over the vamp, materials are of the highest quality — combing buttery suede with perforated leather — and branding was minimal, with “YEEZY” adorning the webbing heel strap and a Swoosh taking center stage as expected.

A rubber Air-filled sole unit was added before Kanye tinted the pair in glow-in-the-dark green, while a bright orange lace jewel on the top and further pops of pink and orange rounded things out.

This legendary pair is now up for grabs through re-size?, the size?launches app initiative available to size?access members that brings rare shoes to one lucky winner. Enter the £10 GBP (approx. $12.73 USD) non-refundable draw and re-size? will allocate a winner, while all the proceeds will be donated to a charity.

In this instance, the proceeds of the Nike Air Yeezy 1 “Zen Grey” raffle will be donated to Blueprint for All, formerly known as the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust. The draw opens today and shuts on April 29 at 9 a.m. BST (4 a.m. EST). Find out more information on size?’s website.
