Union LA and Supervsn Announce a Limited-Edition Joint Capsule Collection
Featuring full-zip jackets, baseball shirts and accessories.
Gavin Mathieu and Chris Gibbs have connected the dots with their respective brands Supervsn and Union LA, to create a limited-edition capsule collection titled “SuperUnion.”
The idea for the timely collaboration was initiated by Mathieu after Gibbs proposed to carry Supervsn in his stores. Fast-forward to the present day, and the newly realized joint collection features an exclusive line of sweatshirts, full-zip windbreakers, T-shirts and bucket hats. Stark primary colors including red, brown, black and green fill out the design spectrum of each item, while comfort also appears to be a key indicator in the roomy size offerings.
Baseball shirts with a colorized “SUPER UNION” logo across the front, and Jamaican flag-colored windbreakers with “UNION” and “Supervsn” chest decals are collection standouts. Legacy branding arrives in the form of postal stamp-esque graphic tees, tonal clinched fists iconography, and the phrased slogan “Divided we stand, United we ball.”
In a joint statement, both brand owners discussed the importance of the collaboration, sharing: “This is a story of two pioneers coming together to connect with the next generation and create a synergy of respect and shared energy to support one another. SuperUnion is a homage to that intergenerational connection, interracial connection, and impact that we all made in 2020 and 2021 when the world came together on one accord to ‘Do The Right Thing’.”
The limited-edition joint capsule collection is now available only on the Supervsn website, and at Union’s LA and Japan stores.
Elsewhere in fashion, Balmain’s FW22 collection sent a message of “honesty and transparency” down the runway.
