Sotheby's to Auction Supreme x Brooklyn Machine Works BMX Cruiser Bike for Upwards of $50K USD
One of 36 produced exclusively for Supreme.

Sotheby’s is set to auction one of the rarest Supreme memorabilia ever made. The piece is a part of Sotheby’s “Modern Colelctibles” auction. Collectors far and wide will get a chance to purchase one od 36 exclusively produced bikes by Brooklyn Machine Works for the streetwear brand.
In 1998, Supreme founder James Jebbia commissioned Brooklyn Machine Works to create 36 bespoke 24” BMX cruiser bikes for the brand. Each of the bikes were handmade in Brooklyn and all feature the Supreme branding on the frame, as well as the branding engraved between the forks, stem and brake booster. Two versions of the bike were created with one including high spec parts and one with mid-range parts.
The auction bike is a high spec version and includes premium components from Odyssey, Crupi, Profile, Chris King, Tioga and Araya. The bikes were gifted to senior store employees who were working at the four Supreme stores across New York, Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka at the time. None of the bikes were sold in public and were offered in a choice of red, black, white, blue or yellow paint finishes. This white version of the Supreme/BMX cruise was once owned by Eric Clapton, long-time friend of the brand. After moving back to London, he gifted th bike to Kings Road streetwear boutique Fly, which has since been its sole owner.
The Supreme x Brooklyn Machine Works BMX Cruiser Bike has a starting bid of $50,000 USD. Check out Sotheby’s for more information. The sale ends on April 6.
