This year marks the 25th anniversary of the beloved One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda. The long-running story has now become a recognizable anime franchise with a global following.

In celebration of 25 years of the original publication, a new logo has been unveiled to mark the occassion. The new emblem sees a nostalgic silhouette of a young Monkey D. Luffy and Red-Haired Shanks. The moment showcases the captaing giving Luffy his iconic straw hat, which later sets off the young boy into becoming one of the world’s most legendary pirates and recognizable fictional characters.

The logo was revealed on a One Piece live stream earlier this week, which also revealed a number of big reveals. It showcased a first look at One Piece Odyssey, a new poster for the upcoming One Piece Film: Red and Netflix has shared who will be playing Red-Haired Shanks in its live-action adaptation of the series.

Since it first set sail in July 1997, One Piece has become one of the best-selling manga series of all time. The 25th anniversary comes a year after the franchise published its 1000th chapter of the manga. The full anime series is available on Funimation and Crunchyroll with select seasons available on Netflix and Hulu.
