STAPLE Reconnects With PUMA for a Suede "Create from Division" Collabroration
The kicks are packed with lotus root tassels hang tags as a nod to Lunar New Year
Jeff Staple and PUMA have grown to form a real kinship as both parties have come together in the past for several collaborations involving footwear and apparel. And this month, the two are reuniting to roll out the second STAPLE x PUMA Suede team-up which is crafted to honor Staple’s Chinese American heritage.
Aesthetically, the kicks come predominantly prepared with a grayscale presentation. Suede uppers and midsole units alike are engineered with a lighter gray and come offset by crisp white PUMA logos as well as solid black interior lining, leather heel overlays and laces. Vibrant pops of orange also appear atop the tongue branding, exposed stitchings and the lotus root tassels hang tags, the latter of which are fitting for the Lunar New Year celebrations.
“The Create from Division Suede was inspired by the concept of dualism and man versus machine – which is reflected in the contrasting textures and patterns throughout the shoe”, says Staple. The PUMA Suede is the perfect blank canvas – being one of the most instantly recognizable, classic sneaker silhouettes of all time. It’s also awesome to work with Foot Locker for a second time who has been a longtime supporter of sneaker culture and has a wide global reach to fans everywhere.”
You can expect these to drop via STAPLE come February 11 for $120 USD.
