Sotheby's Lists Rare White Gold Diamond and Sapphire "Rainbow Khanjar" Rolex Day-Date
Its current highest bid is $515,000 USD.
Sotheby’s has just listed a rare find to its Fine Watches including Masterworks of Time, Collector’s Watches auction.
The watch in question is a rare 1984 white gold, diamond and sapphire-set Rolex Day-Date (Ref. 18059) “Rainbow Khanjar.” It is estimated that there are five of these in existence — three of which are known — where this is the first time the Oman Khanjar-stamped watch has been publicly offered for sale. The watch comes from the original owner where it was gifted to him by Sultan Qaboos. It has been stored in a safe throughout its life and is new old stock with its original box, stamped papers, and tags.
With five days left on the lot, the watch has already exceeded its £150,000 – 250,000 GBP estimate at £380,000 GBP ($515,000 USD). Head over to Sotheby’s to learn more.
