Saweetie and H.E.R. Go Disco Pop on New Single “Closer”
In the ongoing rollout of Saweetie’s debut LP.
Saweetie has dived into the disco pop genre with her new song “Closer.” Featuring the sensual vocals of R&B singer H.E.R., the track arrives as Saweetie’s first release of the year, following last November’s “Icy Chain” collaboration with Tai’Aysha.
In the song, the two artists sing about craving a momentary feeling of closeness with a romantic partner. “I wanna fall in love for the weekend,” Saweetie says. “Three boyfriends, I don’t know where I’m sleeping.”
The cover art is a colorful image of Saweetie and H.E.R. ready to travel in flight attendant uniforms. A music video for the track – perhaps one set in the sky is forthcoming.
Out via Icy and Warner Records, “Closer” comes off of Saweetie’s debut album Pretty B*tch Music, slated for release sometime in 2022.
