OVERCOAT Dedicates Its Fall/Winter 2022 Collection to “Winter Air”
Peter Miles Studio also contributed to this year’s presentation.
Ryuhei Oomaru and his ready-to-wear unisex label OVERCOAT kicked off New York Fashion Week on Friday with a design collection that evokes the “Winter Air” and crisp feeling of being outside.
Launched in 2015, OVERCOAT has become a lauded indie label with a growing cult following. For Fall/Winter ‘22, Oomaru presents his rendition of outerwear and layering pieces that explore structural tailoring, comfort and minimalism. Dolman sleeve silhouettes, puffer jackets and quilting all play a part in this year’s presentation, along with another collaboration from Peter Miles Studio.
Collection highlights include a black wool bomber jacket with large sleeves, an oversized quilted pink poncho and textured yellow track pants with side-button detailing. Miles contributed handmade anti-digital prints that were incorporated into textured velvet materials.
