Today, Helmut Lang unveiled its Fall/Winter 2022 collection during New York Fashion Week that meditates on utility, civility and deviance. Inspired by escapism, the collection illustrates that anything in life can have both beauty and functionality.
To exhibit this sentiment, the New York City-based label’s new collection focuses on the relationship between tailoring and practicality. Genderless pieces take form in a seamless black topcoat with color-blocked cuffs, a rust-colored leather aviator jacket with Toscana shearling, slate gray cargo pants, black flight pants and knit pieces.
Tailored pieces come to life through light gray and plum-colored wool suits with contemporary slit detailing at the cuff and a utilitarian tuxedo. Elsewhere in the collection are base layer garments, liner vests and shirt jackets in leather, cotton twill, silk satin and viscose jersey.
