Carhartt WIP and Salomon Team Up to Rework the CSWP Shelter
Mixing workwear and military influences with technical know-how.
After linking up with Stray Rats earlier this year, Carhartt WIP has continued its collaborative streak by partnering with Salomon. The new release sees a reinterpretation of the CSWP Shelter silhouette, a hard-wearing hiking boot silhouette that was reworked by Better™ Gift Shop back in 2020.
This collaboration mixes Carhartt WIP’s workwear and military-inspired aesthetic with Salomon’s technical expertise. The silhouette is fully waterproof, and sports a light insulation and enhanced grip, while its color palette features a combination of greens, grays and blacks. Other features include pared back branding — including a Carhartt WIP C logo on the heel — and footbeds printed with traditional Indonesian camouflage. The shoe is finished with ripstop detailing on the upper, referencing the material’s frequent use in Carhartt WIP collections.
Salomon for Carhartt WIP is due to release at select stores, the Carhartt WIP web store and Salomon web store on February 10. The collaboration will then release in Asia and Australia on February 17.
