Carhartt WIP Finishes Off FW24 Strong
Looking back to the archives for a nostalgic third and final seasonal release.
Carhartt WIP‘s Fall/Winter 2024 presentation has pointed to a wide range of influences; while the first delivery leaned into collegiate style codes, the second drop embraced the natural beauty of its autumnal surroundings, and the third is nothing like either of its predecessors.
For the final release of its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, Carhartt WIP is feeling nostalgic, tapping into its archives to inform another innovative, contemporary workwear-meets-streetwear delivery. Outerwear is spun through the WIP distinct design lens, with traditional function-first apparel elevated with sleek, refined detailing in the form of as corduroy collars, gusset pocketing and convertible hoods.
Photographer Andrew White captures the collection in a series of rugged 1990s-inspired film stills, with standout pieces including the stone-dyed Stanton Jacket in its traditional blouson shape and the padded Toronto Jacket, which takes a utilitarian-type silhouette complete with ripstop constructions and camouflage lining.
The earthy colorway introduced in the season’s first collection continues to define this drop’s garments, with shades of ”tarragon” green and “Malbec” wine prominent hues among the pieces. Elsewhere, garment-dyed jersey pieces give off more vintage energy, surfacing in washed yet saturated faded finishes.
