Real Fish Skin Lands on the Bisso x KangaROOS Coil R1 "Trout II"
500 pairs have been prepared, utilizing upcycled waste from the food industry.
Sneaker, music and art connoisseur Selecta Bisso has reconnected with footwear brand KangaROOS for one final launch of 2022. Bringing real fish skin to KangaROOS’ Coil R1 silhouette, the two expand on their “Made in Germany” collaborations with the “Trout II.” Tapping into street fishing for inspiration, Bisso has blended the grays of city life with hits of vibrant colors nodding to fish and the waters they reside in.
Combining suede with genuine fish leather that underwent a vegetable tanning process, the pair offers a true connection to its inspiration. In the creation of the collaboration’s limited release of 500 pairs, the fish materials were sourced from food industry waste and then upcycled. Additional detailing includes the numbering of each pair at the right shoe’s heel counter, a rainbow trout heel stamp, collaborative tongue branding and the inclusion of a recycled paper tote bag.
Release for the Bisso x KangaROOS Coil R1 “Trout II” is scheduled to take place via select European retailers such as Afew, today, December 7 at 6pm EST.
