Our Legacy WORK SHOP Revives Deadstock Fabrics for New British Isles Collection
The 12-piece capsule includes the previously-unveiled Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket.
Our Legacy, the cult-favorite Swedish label known for applying custom-developed textiles on timeless silhouettes, has dropped a 12-piece range under its WORK SHOP label, dubbed the British Isles collection. The initiative, which the brand established in 2016, serves to mitigate fashion waste with collections crafted from recycled materials and upcycled garments.
Inside the range, Our Legacy introduces suits and coats made from residual British fabrics, knitwear sourced from surplus yarn, shirts composed of headstock Harris Tweed hand-woven wools and a previously-teased Baracuta G9 Harrington jacket.
“The collection is based on the appreciation of the craftsmanship and the fabric weaving, knitting and shoemaking excellence being tucked into the British Isles,” said Hill in a statement. “Looking from afar it’s of course easy to romanticize around the idea of a small factory doing what they ‘ve always done, but the actual ways of producing something long-lasting in a wholesome way is something we deeply respect and aspire to.”
The fashion brand, which was founded by Christopher Nyung and Jokum Hallin in 2005, aims to create pieces that are “like a classic garment from your grandfather’s wardrobe” yet still fit for contemporary style. The Holiday Market collection does so while using UK-made deadstock fabrics.
