New Balance Rainier Boot Is Revealed With Muted Blue Underlays
Another clean colorway to add to your winter rotation.

For the fall and winter 2022, New Balance dug into its archives to bring back a silhouette that aligned with style sensibilities of the seasonal transition: the Rainier boot. Much like the 550 and the 2002R, the brand reintroduced it to the masses via a collaborative capsule with Aimé Leon Dore, and now the 1982 model is being brought back into the spotlight in a muted blue and brown colorway.
The uppers of these wintry kicks are treated with a three-toned palette. Canvas tongues, side panels and toe boxes are fitted with a muted blue tone while the shaggy suede overlays that are located atop the mid-foot, heels and around the toe boxes are dialed to a warm brown hue. Hiker-friendly D rings are given bronze finishes and hold down its two-toned blue and brown laces. Additionally, the collars are fitted with smooth leather and come covered in a warm brown tone. To round everything off, the sole pieces have been submerged in black and come accessorized with all-over white speckles.
A January release is likely in order for these high-cut boots, but New Balance hasn’t confirmed this yet.
