Following an early look at the cream colorway shared earlier this year, official images of the New Balance 1906R “Protection Pack” in black have surfaced. The pack’s recognizable torn-up aesthetic is maintained throughout the vintage model, which conserves the same design as previous 2002Rs of the same moniker.

The deconstructed outline begins with a black mesh base that peeks through slashed black and grey suede overlays. New Balance’s customary “N” logos sit at the medials, receiving a contrasting gilded perimeter. Tonal heel protectors boast a linear structure, while model-specific branding adorns rugged leather tabs.

Further New Balance touches hit the lower laces, tongues, and rears with a distressed finish. Yellowed N-ERGY midsoles complete the offering with a vintage identity alongside grey accents and speckled outsoles.

Take an official look at the black colorway of the New Balance 1906R “Protection Pack” in the gallery above. Although no specific release date has been announced, the pair is expected to hit retailers such as Aphrodite1994 in the coming weeks for $190 USD.
