V&A Joins K11 MUSEA For “The Love of Couture” Fashion Exhibition
Showcasing six emerging East Asian fashion designers.
Hong Kong’s K11 MUSEA has been curating immersive experiences that combine art, culture, nature, and commerce for its visitors since opening its doors in 2019. Collaborating with the renowned Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) from London, K11 MUSEA will host the “The Love of Couture: Artisanship in Fashion Beyond Time” exhibition at its Art and Culture Centre this December.
The fashion and couture-driven exhibit will showcase six up-and-coming East Asian designers, each presenting bespoke pieces that derived inspiration from the designers’ cultural heritage as well as V&A’s notorious historical fashion archives. The lineup consists of LVMH Prize 2022 finalist Ryunosuke Okazaki and semifinalist Yueqi Qi, couturier Tomo Koizumi, red-carpet creative genius Sohee Park, Prestige 40 Under 40 honoree Celine Kwan and avant-garde designer Sensen Lii of Windowsen.
Aside from the vanguard of emerging designers, William Chang Suk-ping – the notable production and customer designer for Wong Kar-wai’s In the Mood for Love - will be heading the production design for the exhibition.
Showing December 8 to January 29, 2023, the exhibition can be viewed at K11 MUSEA’s Art & Cultural Centre, located on the sixth floor of the mall.
