Hardy Blechman’s maharishi has just presented its latest collection for Winter 2022 and the new campaign has taken to life in the great outdoors.
The London-based brand has been busy as of late. For example, the imprint connected with Reebok to announce their second-ever collaboration recently, while the brand has also worked collaboratively with pedal bike expert Dosnoventa, all while curating Notting Hill Carnival T-shirt guides and other seasonal campaigns throughout Fall and Halloween.
With this in mind, maharishi is now taking things back to basics with its military-styled offerings and abstract prints across a melange of utility garments. Collection highlights come in the form of the new rare issue flight jackets — which come adorned in up-cycled panel detailing — and they take inspiration from styles worn by USAF fighter pilots during the Second World War. And while the design incorporates recycled quilt liners and panels sourced from M60 Czech Field Jackets, the design feels revitalized and presents a more modernized approach with dropped shoulders and a cropped waist.
maharishi’s knitwear has also leveled up this season: see the new Kanata hand-knits which depict golden tiger skins, as well as the mock neck crew which celebrates indigenous Salish waving techniques for proof of that. Rounding off the collection, maharishi has also included an assemblage of accessories such as a new insulated aviator hat which comes fitted with upcycled panelwork and is completed with a detachable face covering and quick-release chin strap.
