Seiko Celebrates 25 Years of the 500 Series Shinkansen With 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' Watch
Themed on the EVA Unit-01 bullet train.
Seiko has just teamed up with the Japan Railways Group for a limited watch celebrating the 25th anniversary of the debut of the 500 Series Shinkansen. The watch is themed on the Evangelion Shinkansen and is presented as the “500 TYPE EVA” watch.
Limited to 5,000 pieces, the watch sees a chronograph function, a 24-hour time subdial, a day/date function, and the EVA Unit-01’s color scheme. As a nod to the bullet train, the 1 o’clock position features a driver’s cab window motif, and the image of the windshield of a bullet train worked in with the curved hardlex glass. The watch is finished with special branding and a box with the NERV logo at the front.
Priced at ¥54,780 JPY (approximately $370 USD) the watch is available now in Japan.
