Watch the First Trailer for Lizzo's Upcoming HBO Documentary 'Love Lizzo'
Documenting the artist’s meteoric rise in music.
HBO Max has released the first official trailer for Lizzo‘s upcoming documentary. Love Lizzo was announced earlier this year and chronicles the Detroit artist’s meteoric rise to fame. The film is directed by Doug Pray, the man who executive-produced Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s 2018 docuseries, The Defiant One.
The trailer spotlights Lizzo’s journey from her childhood to her breakthrough moment as an artist. The documentary shoes never-before-seen footage of her formative years, where she explains that she did not initially feel confident. The documentary highlights the turning moments in her life that made her into the performer she is today. Lizzo also discussed how she wanted to quit many times and reflected on being bullied at school for being different and listening to Radiohead. In the trailer, Lizzo can be heard saying she has finally “found my voice” but it took a lot of hard work to get to where she is today.
Fans of Lizzo can watch the new documentary, Love Lizzo on HBO Max on November 24. The documentary arrives just a couple months before Lizzo heads out on her U.K. and European tour starting in February 2023.
