G-Star RAW Links Up With Stephen Jones for Couture Denim Hat Collection
Featuring seven bold designs.
G-Star RAW is known for its signature focus on classic and contemporary denim offerings. Now, the brand is taking it up a notch with its new collaboration with expert milliner, Stephen Jones.
At age 65, the London-based milliner has been one of the most-renown hat makers of the modern era – making haute couture creations for the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Dior, Thom Browne, Princess Diana, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna and many others. By joining forces with G-Star RAW, Jones exhibits his evolving haute couture prowess with a range of denim-clad designs.
The new unisex capsule comprises five couture denim designs and two ready-to-wear hats crafted from Cradle to Cradle Gold Certified denim. Making up the couture selection is a cloche cape, headband, layered bucket hat, sun hat and winged cap, which are all inspired by Jones’ early designs. Fit for the streets, the RTW pieces include a double bucket hat and a winged baseball cap.
“Everybody around the world knows what denim is and what denim signifies,” said Jones. “I took denim out of its comfort zone and made it what it wasn’t. G-Star gave me complete carte blanche.”
