It's "A New Dawn" For Ferragamo's Just-Released SS23 Preview Collection

Inspired by the “ease and sensuality” of New Hollywood — and Salvatore Ferragamo’s time in Old Hollywood.

After new creative director Maximilian Davis sent his first Ferragamo show down the runway at Milan Fashion Week in September, select pieces from the show have now been made available for purchase. Titled “A New Dawn,” the preview collection was inspired by two different parts of Hollywood history: Salvatore Ferragamo’s time in/impact on Hollywood and long-standing relationships with its stars plus the “ease and sensuality” of modern-day Hollywood. “I wanted to pay tribute to Salvatore’s start by bringing in the culture of Hollywood – but new Hollywood,” said Davis. “Its ease and sensuality; its sunset and sunrise.”

Standout pieces from the collection include bright, sparkling ready-to-wear pieces inspired in part by the garments Ferragamo himself crafted for Marilyn Monroe, sharply-tailored trousers that offer small nods to fetishism with their harness details, Ferragamo’s classic Wanda handbag with new proportions and finishes, Elina heels with sculptural Gancini designs and minimalist takes on loafers and boots. In summation, Davis’ collection is both exactingly precise and wonderfully carefree; two sides of the same coin much like Hollywood itself. These inspirations are further conveyed in the lookbook, which was shot in and around Hollywood by photographer Jackie Nickerson.

The Ferragamo “A New Dawn” SS23 preview collection is available at Ferragamo stores worldwide and on the Ferragamo webstore. It’ll be available for purchase until December 4.
