Eminem‘s 8 Mile soundtrack is officially 6x platinum.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the album has now sold over six million units in the United States since its release in October 2002 and went 4x platinum in January 2003 (the date of it going 5x platinum was not listed). The news arrives just in time for the 20th anniversary of 8 Mile, which saw Em celebrate the milestone by releasing an expanded edition of the soundtrack album and a Mom’s Spaghetti pop-up in New York City.

The rapper was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre, who revealed that many people discouraged him from signing the young Missouri-born rapper because they didn’t see nor believe in the vision. “Each of us was what the other one needed — and I was willing to bet my entire career on it,” he said.

Elsewhere in music, watch Nas and Hit-Boy’s “Michael & Quincy” visual.
