Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa have officially unveiled the lineup for the first ever Black Star Line Festival.

Set to take place on January 6, 2023 at the historic Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana, the festival is billed as “a celebration of Pan-Africanism, building bridges between Black people and artists of The Diaspora with The Continent,” with performances from Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Erykah Badu, T-Pain, Jeremih, Sarkodie, Tobe Nwigwe, Asakaa Boys and M.anifest.

In the days leading up to the performances, Black Star Line Festival will be hosting a week-long series of events and panels across cultural centres throughout Accra. The gatherings, which occurs in the first week of January, “will provide opportunities for education, enrichment and cultural diffusion.”

“Since 1957, Ghana has been a support system and stronghold for Black liberation globally,” Chano shared in a statement. “This year Accra became a second home to me, and my Ghanaian friends have become my family. We’re incredibly humbled and honored to build something from the ground up that creates community and memories for Black people of the diaspora & continent for years to come. Akwaaba!!”

Tickets for Black Star Line Festival go on sale November 21.
