Matthieu Blazy‘s Bottega Veneta is a refined one, putting its power in the finest details. This was apparent in the House’s just-dropped Pre-Spring 2023 lookbook and collection, and now coming as part of the continued roll-out is Bottega Veneta’s new range of Lug footwear.

Comprising three silhouettes — a loafer, a formal shoe, and a boot of which there are two colors to choose — the Lug range earns its name thanks to the lugged sole unit that features across the trio. Made from micro rubber, this flatform design gives an extra 2.2” of height to the wearer and, from there, things are kept to minimalistic proportions.

The loafer is arguably the favorite of the pack, coming in gloss black calfskin leather and all the traditional trimmings. A penny-style throat appears up top, welt stitching crimps the toe box, and stamped insoles come together for nothing short of understated luxury. Likewise, the matte vegetable-tanned calfskin leather lace-ups continue the formalities, while the boots in either matte black or matte bottle green serve a utilitarian attitude.

Bottega Veneta’s Lug Loafer and Lug Lace-Up both retail for $1,300 USD, while the Lug Lace-Up Ankle Boots come in at $1,550 USD. Take a look at all four offerings above, and purchase them at the boutiques or online worldwide now.

In other news, Stone Island’s latest footwear drop is inspired by British subcultures.
