Babylon LA Connects With Dr. Martens on Double-Layered 1461
Featuring a tear-away canvas layer on top of a Wanama leather base.

Another busy year of collaborations, Dr. Martens continues its hot streak as it rejoins California-based streetwear label Babylon LA. Having approached the high-top 1460 in the past, the duo now pivots to its low-top counterpart in the 1461. Tapping into Babylon’s youthful punk energy and DIY aesthetics, the 1461 has been prepared in a unique double-layered approach.
Continuing the growing trend of embracing wear and tear that has continued to pop up in footwear, tear-away uppers serve as the focal point of this collaboration. The olive shoes appear in canvas, however, with each scratch and hit to the material, it begins to reveal a black Wanama leather foundation. Beyond this, Babylon’s logo can be spotted at the lateral zipper’s hardware and lateral heel via a rip tape badge. To complete the look, black laces are joined by a black DMS air-cushioned sole with Dr. Martens’ iconic yellow welt stitching and a CHAOS sole pad print.
For those interested in purchasing a pair, release for the Babylon LA x Dr. Martens 1461 “Olive” is scheduled for November 21. It will be available via Dr. Martens and select partners at a price of $150 USD.
In other news in the busy world of footwear, TIGHTBOOTH has joined forces with BLOHM to create all-black loafers named the Velvet Rat Loafer.
