Larry Stanton's Artwork Decorates Acne Studios' Latest Capsule Collection
The late artist is also featured in Acne Paper’s 17th issue alongside site-specific exhibitions celebrating his work.
Following the reveal of its collaborative footwear capsule with KERO, Acne Studios is debuting a limited collection celebrating late artist Larry Stanton.
Dubbed “Acne Studios Loves Larry Stanton,” the capsule collection features two cotton T-shirts, a scarf, a jacquard blanket, and a duo of printed lampshades. One top arrives with a purple base and a self-portrait of the late artist, while the other boasts a white construction and scribbled text that reads “I’M GOING TO MAKE IT,” highlighting the words that Stanton affirmed during his final days in hospital.
A lightweight foulard scarf sees an abstract version of Stanton’s swimming pool artworks alongside a cozy jacquard blanket enhanced with a sketched portrait that sports an unfinished feel. Table lamps are fashioned with semi-translucent blue glass stems and promote beaming poolside drawings.
To accompany the capsule, Acne Studios’ 500-page “Acne Paper” artbook receives its 17th issue, which features the work of over fifty contemporary artists. Stanton is highlighted throughout, while his vibrant body of work is blasted at various exhibition spaces held in Acne Studios stores in Milan, Tokyo, Seoul, and New York.
