'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Is Getting Its Own Air Jordan 1

Peter Parker is from New York, so no matter if he’s traversing the streets of Queens or swinging through the skyscrapers of Manhattan as Spider-Man, he understands the importance of a fresh pair of sneakers. Spidey’s next adventure — Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse — is heading to theaters in the summer of 2023, and it was just revealed that the film will be accompanied by a brand-new Spidey-approved Air Jordan 1.

The news of the new sneakers come as no surprise to Marvel or Jordan Brand fans, as the last time Spider-Man went on an animated adventure (2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 1 “Origin Story,” a comic-inspired twist on the OG Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” with blue detailing and Ben-Day dots. Currently, there’s no official word on what the design will look like: the photo above is a mock-up created by zsneakerheadz, a reputable leak and early info source who also unearthed the news of the shoe’s arrival.

At the time of writing, a release date for these Spider-Man-inspired Air Jordan 1s has yet to be revealed. However, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will arrive in theaters on June 2, 2023, so it’s not unreasonable to expect its accompanying Air Jordan 1 to arrive around then as well. Pricing information is forthcoming as well, but a full family size run should be available.
