After dropping exclusive DJ mixes by Omar S, Robert Hood, and Rory Milanes on Apple Music, and delivering its inaugural Winter 2022 release, Palace is now readying the release of its Week 2 drop for the season. Aside from the Week 2 drop comprised of outerwear, sweatshirts, shirts, T-shirts, pants, and headwear, the uniquely British imprint is also dropping “Palace Product Descriptions: The Selected Archive.”

Presented by Phaidon, the book release, by Palace Co-Founder Lev Tanju, is the official printed archive of Palace Skateboard’s infamous online product descriptions. Since its debut in 2013, Palace has used unconventional descriptors, which often have little or nothing to do with the product being described, full of “humor, pathos, social commentary, and unabashed opinion” to offer irreverent context to its releases.

Palace Product Descriptions: The Selected Archive‘s introduction, written by writer, poet, and literary critic Sam Buchan-Watts, reads, “Ludwig Wittgenstein claimed that a serious philosophical work could be written entirely of jokes: we might now add product descriptions.”

Collected for the first time and appearing in its usual online form, all caps and in bullet points, are over 3,000 descriptions organized in 22 tongue-in-cheek categories. The authentic, unapologetic entries filed under categories like “Anatomy,” “Animals,” “Etiquette,” “Philanthropy,” “Romance,” “Travel,” and more come accompanied by product shots and candid, behind-the-scenes chapter openers from Palace’s archive.

Priced at £35 GBP (€40 EUR, $50 USD, ¥6,050 JPY), Phaidon presents Palace Product Descriptions: The Selected Archive by Lev Tanju will be available on Phaidon and Palace’s website October 14, with publication set for October 26. Pre-orders are available now on Phaidon’s website.

This week’s accompanying Winter 2022 release is led by the Polartec Double Zip Funnel and matching Jogger, Sherpa Hooded Jacket, and Relaxed Insulated Pertex Jacket with Trouser set. Other layering options include the Pal Pocket Slub Hood, Baffled Hood, 1/4 Zip 380 Funnel Neck, Ye Olde Crew, Flannel Drop Shoulder Shirt, Basically A Longsleeve, Fast Wrap T-Shirt, and Duck Baggies Jean. Finishing up the release are headwear options like GORE-TEX Plaid P 6-Panel, New Era Peaked Balaclava, Fast Beanie, and Crochet Camo Beanie.

Palace’s Winter 2022 Week 2 Drop is set for both in-store and online releases starting October 14, 11 a.m. EDT on the brand’s official webstore, and in Japan on October 15, 11 a.m. JST on the Palace Japan webstore, and on the official “Palace_Skateboards” WeChat store October 15, 11 a.m. CST.
