Nike’s Air Max Plus TN "University Red" Is Hot on the Block
Featuring plastic arch draws that draw inspiration from a whale’s tail.
Nike has just presented its Air Max Plus TN in a “University Red/Black” colorway. The TN silhouette is no stranger to experimentation or collaborations, with recent link-ups coming with the likes of Supreme as the pair presented a Fall/Winter collaboration that featured three colorways with customized uppers and “SUPREME” logos. However, collaborations aside, the sneaker has recently been presented in “Black/Turquoise” and now that cool emergence of colors has been followed up by this new fiery design.
The sneaker has been designed with a synthetic and fabric upper, giving the silhouette a lightweight feel with added comfott and durability. Also, this new design has been presented with performance running in mind, with the Max Air units in the heel providing heel and forefoot cushioning. Additionally, the sneaker looks to bring beach life to the city with plastic arch draws that draw inspiration from a whale’s tail which adds structure, while the shoe’s plastic fingers nod to palm trees and ocean waves. Rounding off the design, reflective details are used on the customary Nike branding on the tongue as well as the classic Swoosh on the lateral mid panel.
