One of 47 collaborated pairs of bespoke Air Force 1s by the late designer.

Just last week, Sotheby’s officially place a pair of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh sneakers up for auction. HYPEBEAST reported that most of the 200 pairs that are up for auction had already reached its reserve prices, however this particular pair of US size 11s reached a bid of $70,000 USD.
Now, the same pair, Lot 178, which comes with a Pilot Case has a current bid of $90,000 USD. The lot for this item closes in 8 days and 11 hours at the time of writing. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1 silhouette. Originally designed in 1982, the shoes have since become an iconic stape for sneakerheads everywhere. This particular model was unveiled at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2022 runway show, where the late-Virgil Abloh, a long-time collaborator with Nike, designed 47 bespoke Air Force 1s for the French luxury house.
Only 200 pairs are made available for the auction in an exclusive colorway and range of sizes. The sneaker is entirely constructed in leather and features the Louis Vuitton emblematic monogram and Damier pattern. All of the shoes are sold directly by Louis Vuitton and all proceeds from the sales will benefit The Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund. With still over a week left of the auction, it remains to be seen how high these shoes will sell for.
