King of the Hill fans should hold their excitement for the reboot, as Greg Daniels revealed that the revival of the beloved animated show is “still not 100%.”

In an interview with Collider, where Daniels spoke about season two of Space Force, the King of the Hill co-creator shared that he and Mike Judge are still in the process of actually getting the reboot out there. “Well, here’s the weird thing about the way that article ran is… there isn’t any change yet,” he said, referring to The Hollywood Reporter piece. “We don’t have a deal to do it. I’m not exactly sure if we phrased it wrong, maybe, but it’s still not 100%.”

He did explain, however, that the possible reboot may feature a time jump and could take place 15 years after the finale, where “the characters are a bit older.” Daniels added, “Well, we haven’t worked out the contracts yet. We had the idea floating around that we pitched a while ago, and I think we need to figure out how we would do it well and who would do it with us because we’re both pretty busy.”

In the THR interview, Daniels and Judge spoke on their newest animation company, Bandera Entertainment, which was born from a series of King of the Hill reunion panels.
