Chris Evans will reportedly play Gene Kelly in an upcoming film based on one of his own ideas.

According to reports, the untitled movie is set in 1952 and will follow a 12-year-old boy working on the MGM lot. The unnamed child then creates an imaginary friendship with Kelly as he works on his next film.

Evans will also serve as the film’s producer alongside Mark Kassen, Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman under T-Street Productions and John Logan, the latter of whom will also pen the script. The upcoming movie will see Johnson, Bergman and Evans reunite following Knives Out.

The former MCU actor will voice Buzz Lightyear in Pixar and Disney’s forthcoming animated feature Lightyear, as well as star in Netflix and Joe and Anthony Russo’s adaptation of The Gray Man alongside Ana de Armas and Ryan Gosling.

Stay tuned for an official trailer and release date.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Apple Original Films will back Adam McKay and Jennifer Lawrence’s upcoming film about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.
