Brompton Readies The Launch of Its Lightest Fold-up Bike To-Date
Weighing in at just 7.45kg.

After rounding out last year by collaborating with KENZO, UK-based Brompton returns for 2022 with its lightest fold-up bicycle to-date in the Brompton T Line.
Weighing in at just 7.45kg, Brompton has reinvented every millimeter of its epochal design, beginning its fold to life in titanium with new techniques, designing over 150 components and building a dedicated factory in order to create the ultra-light line.
The frame itself is precision-engineered in titanium, then orbital and tig-welded for strength, it’s then transported to its London HQ and finished with new componentry and tuned for city life.
Its steel-armored carbon seat post is the first of its kind and allows the bike to withstand the abrasion of the fold, 110kg load and all-weather riding, as self-aligning hinges, a spring-loaded handlebar catch and larger diameter rolling wheels makes folding effortless.
The bike will arrive in two specifications of Brompton T Line One ($4,795 USD) and T Line Urban ($4,995 USD), each of which will be available via a ballot system on the brand’s webstore imminently.
In other news, FDMTL has joined Helinox and Heimplanet for an Outdoor Boro collection.
