Acer Introduces a Refresh to its Popular Predator Gaming Laptops

Acer helping gamers welcome the new year by bringing the latest technology to its popular line of Predator gaming laptops. Designed to offer a beast of a gaming laptop, the Predator Helios 300 has a lightning-fast display that’s driven by the latest CPUs and GPUs. Packaged in two different sizes, this model will be available in North America in May of 2022.

This laptop is all about performance. It’s powered by the latest 12th Gen Intel® Core i7™ processors, which have been built for the next generation of gaming, and also features either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU, plus 32GB of DDR5-4800 MHz memory. The top-tier hardware is complemented by a comfortably large QHD display, which comes in a 15.6-inch option and a 17.3-inch option, with a 165 Hz refresh rate. “Our most popular gaming laptops have been updated with the latest silicon announced at CES,” explains James Lin, the General Manager of Notebooks, IT Products at Acer. “Combine that with state-of-the-art cooling technology and high-refresh rate displays and you get exciting laptops that even the most demanding of players will love.”

With an all-black chassis and a light bar, the exterior of the Helios 300 has an aggressive design to reflect the powerful hardware inside of it. Its lid features a turquoise-backlit Predator logo and angled lid corners for a sleek look. The rear of the laptop has cooling vents that contain a dual-fan layout with one 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan. When gaming sessions start to heat up, a built-in PredatorSense button allows gamers to select a fan speed from four preset modes or a built-in Turbo Key can max out these settings for optimized performance. Additional factors that keep the laptop extra cool include liquid metal thermal grease and Acer’s CoolBoost™ technology, and a mini-LED backlight keyboard with per-key RGB.

No matter what your game of choice is, the Predator Helios 300 is designed for gamers to obliterate their opponents at record-breaking speeds. The Helios 300 also includes one month of Xbox Game Pass, which means gamers can play with their friends regardless of whether they use a PC or console. There’s a generous range of different ports that includes an HDMI 2.1 to connect to external monitors and consoles, a Thunderbolt™ port, and two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports for charging mobile devices. Equipped with Intel® Killer™ Double-Shot™ Pro (E2600+1675i) and Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) connectivity, the laptop automatically switches high-priority traffic to the fastest network connection to keep you ahead of the game.

Predator Helios 300 (PH315-55) will be available in North America in May of 2022 in two different sizes: a 15.6-inch model for $1649.99 USD and a 17.3-inch model for $1749.99.
